monit.rs · Zenofex LLC
Same PR-diff workflow, free — plus live production monitoring, AI incident summaries, and status pages Optic doesn't ship.
What is different: Optic is focused on the spec-review workflow in CI: capturing endpoint traffic, generating a spec, diffing PRs. monit.rs ships an equivalent CI-time OpenAPI diff (via a free GitHub Marketplace Action) AND runs live probes against production between deploys — so you catch drift after merge, not just before.
Common ground: Both classify OpenAPI changes as breaking/non-breaking, comment on PRs, and integrate with GitHub. Both have an OSS heritage in the diff engine.
Pricing: monit.rs's CI Action is free with no account, and live monitoring starts at $0 for 3 endpoints. Optic has no pricing because Optic is discontinued -- Atlassian acquired it and the repository was archived in January 2026.
Best fit: Optic is archived, so this is a migration question rather than a choice between two live products. The MIT-licensed CLI still runs if you vendor it, and that is a legitimate option for a frozen workflow -- it will not get new rules or security patches. monit.rs gives you the CI diff for free and keeps checking the deployed API between merges.
monit.rs compares observed response fields and types with a learned baseline. Run OpenAPI contract checks against the latest stored response when you want to compare the implementation with a declared contract.
See the difference when a field disappears or changes type. Optional AI summaries suggest possible causes and next steps; review the evidence before accepting a new baseline.
monit.rs also runs a public changelog of 47+ well-known API vendors (Stripe, GitHub, OpenAI, Cloudflare, Datadog, PostHog, Vercel, Supabase, and 39 more). Every detected OpenAPI change is published at /changelog with per-vendor RSS feeds, stability badges, and side-by-side comparison pages.
